BackLab
At BackLab, we combine expertise in personality psychology, social interaction, and innovative data-driven methods. Our research focuses on personality and social relationships and how they shape each other, focusing on self-concept, social skills, interpersonal dynamics, and well-being. By integrating approaches from psychology, machine learning, and emerging technologies such as virtual reality and AI, our work advances the understanding of individual differences and their impact in real-world social and educational contexts.

Prof. Dr. Mitja Back
Specializing in Psychological Assessment and Personality Psychology, Dr. Back conducts research on how personality and social relationships shape each other. His work focuses on personality assessment, self-concept and narcissism, first impressions, and the role of personality in friendships and romantic relationships, using innovative methods and real-life data.

At Computer Vision and Machine Learning Systems (CVMLS), we combine expertise in computer vision, machine learning, and immersive technologies.
